7 Holiday Beauty Tips

Tis the season for festive nights out! To help you get ready, here’s a battle plan to help you get party-ready– from face, hair, nails, and even recreational activities!

  1. Never sleep with makeup on.
No matter how late you get in or how exhausted you are, removing your makeup before going to bed is a sacred skincare rule you have to follow. Otherwise, all the oil and dirt accumulated during the day plus all your makeup clogs your pores, resulting in breakouts. Yikes! Tip: keep moisturizing makeup remover wipes handy for those nights when you’re too tired for a full skincare routine.
  2.

  3. Drink plenty of water.
You may have heard it hundreds of times but only because it’s true. Getting your daily 6-8 glasses of water isn’t just good for your skin but also for your body in general. Make it a habit to carry a water tumbler with you when you go out and keep a glass of water by your bedside so you remember to drink in the morning.
  4.

  5. Use a light-reflective primer.
Holidays are all about the glow so when you’re doing your makeup, make sure you’re off to a good start with a radiance-boosting primer. Not only does this help make your makeup last, but the light-reflective particles also give you that lit from within look.
  6.

  7. Add shimmer and glitter.
If there’s ever a good time to bust out the glitter palettes it’s for Christmas party season! Some pro tips for wearing glitter makeup: pick one feature to glitter up and stick to that. If you use glitter everywhere, you end up with a costumey look rather than a chic one. For example if you decide to go with a sparkly eye or lip, you may want to keep your highlight on the subtle side. The key is to keep everything balanced.
  8.

  9. Look bright-eyed with chilled eye masks and yellow concealer.
Combat tired-looking eyes from late nights with this handy tip. Lie down and place a chilled gel eye mask or cold cotton balls over closed eyes for 10 minutes. This will help drain accumulated fluids and reduce swelling. Then for your makeup, cover up dark under-eye circles with a yellow-based concealer. A yellow-based concealer under the eyes, one that’s slightly lighter than your skin tone, will neutralize the underlying mauve/purple based shadows.
  10.

  11. Glam up your digits with nail art.
Don’t leave your nails out of the holiday makeover! Make sure your nails are polished to festive perfection by treating yourself to a mani-pedi session at Nailandia Circulo Verde. Whether you want to go full-on with acrylic nails or nail art, or keep it understated with metallic or glitter polish, Nailandia has you covered.
  12.

  13. Get a holiday hair makeover.
A new cut and style are not just great for turning heads at parties. Think of it as a “new year, new me” power move! We’re seeing a lot of bob cuts and raspberry bourbon shades this season, so you may want to consider going in that direction. If you have other styles in mind or if you’re not sure yet, you’re in good hands at NS Salon at Circulo Verde! New color, new cut, new extensions– they’ll be happy to glam you up!
