Treat 'Yo Self

Treat ‘Yo Self at Industria!

When one thinks of unwinding, what comes to mind are restaurants, cafes, shops, and spas that are commonly frequented in malls. Often, mainstream malls are top of mind. And often too, these are the default destinations for relaxation. At the heart of Circulo Verde Ortigas is a hub that may be less frequented but definitely worth visiting. For the more adventurous, it’s one spot that speaks of indulgence and rush, not commonly found in ordinary commercial districts. Industria. Tucked in Calle Industria, it houses interesting dining spots, recreation studios, beauty spas, and concept stores. What adds to its relatively relaxing vibe is the fact that it’s not flooded with people and the expansive design gives visitors the space often lacking in a bustling district. Whether it be about indulging in a gastronomic treat, getting an adrenalin rush out of a kick-ass activity, getting pampered from head to foot (yes, even down to nails!), or scoring an item you’ve been wanting to have — Industria is a breather to every visitor looking for some “me time”. So…ready for an Industria treat? Read on.

Eat your Heart Out!

Foodies, unite! If you’re in for a gastronomic treat that’s casual, cozy, and has huge servings, head over to Liam’s and Louise’s Gourmet Café. The rustic interior with plush couches gives one the homey feels reminiscent of good old childhood days. Heirloom dishes such as Bangus Ala Pobre, Seafood Red Curry, Pork Belly Binagoongan, Wagyu Caldereta, and Buttered Garlic Prawns await every visitor.  Meanwhile, Chef and Brewer takes you to that laidback Brit country-style pub. It comes with a wide selection of wine that lets one’s hair down after a hefty meal. While the vibe is Brit pub, it offers a variety of dishes you can choose from —- Japanese sushi, Italian pizza and pasta, Asian noodles, and classic Pinoy favorites. On the other hand, Samgyupsalamat, everyone’s favorite Korean BBQ restaurant, is perfect for your unli Korean cravings. Its main attraction:  finest pork and beef selection in different slices and sauces, complete with side dishes such as potato marbles, kimchi, and steamed egg.

Get the Rush!

The bold, daring, and the active will find Industria a perfect playground for that much-needed adrenalin rush. Ninja Academy, parkour and free-running facility, unleashes the hidden Naruto in you. It has bars and boxes for obstacles, precision beams for jumps, and a foam pit. Beginners need not worry though, because Ninja Academy has certified coaches who will teach them the basics, plus a few safety measures. If it’s self-defense kind of workout you’re after, there’s Krav Maga ready to bring out the fighter in you. Here, you will be taught self-defense tactics, logical thinking, and human body movements that can be applied in different attack scenarios. Definitely not one for the faint hearted. Meanwhile, those who simply want to sweat it out and get a good workout there’s Cross Fit. It’s a combination of high-intensity interval trainings focusing on plyometrics, powerlifting, and body weight exercises. Cross Fit exercises are modified according to one’s goals, age, and level of fitness.

Be pampered!

Hair’s something for those looking for a complete hair pampering: Industria has NS Salon. Soothing one’s senses starts the moment you step into their salon which exudes a calming, minimalist, cozy interior. Whether you want to have your bob re-styled, have it treated or colored, or get a hair extension, NS Salon is the way to go. Then too, there’s Nailandia for the nailaholics whose idea of pampering begins with a luxurious mani and pedi. Nail primping, foot spa, facials, and massages are also offered — which literally makes it a head-to-foot indulgence.

Shop!

If it’s some serious tech shopping you’re after, Industria has the perfect mecca for you: Urban Gadgets. It’s a one-stop shop that houses lifestyle gadgets, gears, and some tech essentials/accessories. Get ready to drool on Urban Gadgets’ outdoor cameras, multimedia speakers, camera gimbals, sports watches, travel bags, etc. Really, it’s hard not to get out of the store not buying a loot. For bike enthusiasts, it’s a sin not to visit Celeste Cycles. It’s a concept store in Industria that fuses the rush of bike love and caffeine kick. It offers a wide range of top-of-the-line cycling products both for the professionals and recreational cyclists. It also has an indoor bike-and-run training facility that simulates the actual “action”. Making it more adrenalin kicking is Celeste Cycle’s bevy of coffee selection for its visitors, which by the way, makes it a perfect recovery drink or an after-shopping beverage. Peppermint Mocha and Caramel Machiato are a must-try.

Industria may not be like the usual malls that you frequent, but that’s precisely the charm of the place. It’s a relaxation destination on its own, and by very definition, it’s an Industria of unique indulgences you can have, any time you want.
