4 Exciting Recreational Activities to Try at Industria — Even During the Rainy Season!

4 Exciting Recreational Activities to Try at Industria — Even During the Rainy Season!

The rainy season has officially begun! The continuous downpour and cold breeze has left the citizens of Manila bored at home, no recreational activities in mind. If you think you can only have fun outdoors, think again! More unique and exciting indoor recreational activities are popping up and gaining quite a reputation.

Here are some indoor recreational activities you and your friends can enjoy at Industria:

Join a high intensity training session at Crossfit

Located at Ground Floor

CrossFit has gained popularity over the decades for its all-in-one, extreme workouts. And its notoriety is completely justified — it involves high-intensity interval training, Olympic weightlifting, plyometrics, powerlifting, gymnastics, girevoy sport, calisthenics, strongman, and many other exercises. To any regular individual, this fitness regimen indeed sounds scary and a little too much to handle.

The workout is promoted as a competitive fitness sport, and a physical exercise philosophy, that’s why it was initially used as a workout for police academies and military special operation units in the United States. But don’t let this faze you, CrossFit works for everyone! Even for individuals without prior physical training. It is a completely safe lifestyle that is based on effective exercise and sound nutrition. Notice your metabolism, strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular health improve as you work your way up the ladder.

Learn self-defense at Krav Maga PH

Located at 2nd Floor

Krav Maga, which is Hebrew for Contact Combat, has the most interesting origin story. The now world famous self-defense system was created by Hungarian-born Israeli martial artist Emrich “Imre” Lichtenfeld. It was derived from his street-fighting, boxing, and wrestling experience while defending the Jewish quarter against anti-Semitic attacks from fascist groups in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia. He eventually began to provide formal lessons on combat training.

Now, city dwellers can also learn this fighting system. Krav Maga Philippines is the official local representative of acclaimed Krav Maga Global (KMG) organization, the Source of Premier Krav Maga instruction worldwide. There are different programs under Krav Maga Philippines: Civilian, VIP Protection Course, Military and Law Enforcement, Firearm and Shooting Course, and First Response. With them, you will learn that there is so much more to Krav Maga than just self-defense; it teaches you to strengthen the mind, read body language and become aggressive when the situation demands it. It is highly effective for its focus on real-world situations that are relevant to both civilians and armed forces alike.

Be as swift and quiet as a ninja at the Ninja Academy!

Located at 2nd Floor

Aspiring ninjas, Naruto fans, and American Ninja Warrior enthusiasts will surely have a blast at the Ninja Academy! They are proudly the first parkour and freerunning facility in Manila. If you’re not aware of what parkour is, it is “the functional and creative movement of a person attempting to overcome an obstacle in a given environment.”

Other than private parkour classes though, the facility also provides a number of training programs for muscle building, conditioning, fitness, strength training, and more. The Ninja Academy boasts its facilities, the most complete in all of South East Asia! It has bars and boxes for obstacles, precision beams for jumps and a foam pit. If you’re looking for a fun activity with your friends, you can also sign up for group classes that can build agility, endurance, and power.

Calm your senses at Nuat Thai

Located at Ground Floor

You’ve probably been to a Nuat Thai after a grueling week at work. They are one of the most affordable massage places in the Metro and you’re most likely to find a branch anywhere. Nuat Thai provides an authentic Thai massage and aromatherapy experience. You can even indulge in the Ventosa cupping therapy that is used by Olympic athletes. It is a unique traditional massage that reinvigorates and nourishes the body, the muscles, and skin.

Enjoy these recreational activities only at Circulo Verde, Industria.
