Ortigas Film Festival Short Film Competition Mechanics

ELIGIBILITY

  • The contest is open to all individuals residing in the Philippines who have a passion for filmmaking
  • Participants must do the following:
    • Like the Ortigas Art Festival Facebook page: fb.com/ortigasartfestival
    • Comment #OrtigasVerticalCinemaContest on this post
  • Employees of Ortigas Land, including their relatives up to the 2nd degree of consanguinity or affinity are disqualified to join

 

MECHANICS

  • Shoot your short film following the guidelines below:
    • Theme: The Beauty of Everyday
    • Camera: Smartphone
    • Orientation: Portrait (9:16 aspect ratio)
    • Length: Not more than 2 minutes including credits
    • Genre: Any
    • Language: English or Filipino. If there will be other languages, please provide English subtitles
  • Submit your entry in the official entry form: bit.do/OrtigasVerticalCinema-OfficialEntryForm and fill out completely the following details:
    • Name
    • Age
    • Gender
    • Address
    • Email
    • Facebook URL
    • Title of Short Film
    • Genre
    • Smartphone used
    • Link or attachment of short film (Google Drive Link)
  • Agree to the Terms and Conditions
  • Deadline of entries is on March 11, 2021, 11:59PM.
  • Judging of entries will be from March 12, 202 to March 18, 2021.
  • Announcement of winners will be on March 19, 2021.

FILM GUIDELINES

 

  • Production of the film must be done following the IATF Guidelines
  • Theme must not contain violence, threat, abuse, and horror.
  • Explicit use of profanity, nudity, and sex is not allowed.
  • Story must be an original concept and story that is unpublished and not posted nor streamed on any digital or print platform. Any copyright infringement is a basis for disqualification.
  • All music, artwork, photography, etc. used in the film must be original, licensed, or in the public domain. Any violation is a cause for disqualification.
  • Entry should be in HD file (MP4 format) and must have a minimum resolution of 720p of portrait orientation only.
  • Each participant may only submit up to 3 entries.

 

 

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Submission of entries will be from February 16, 2021 to March 11, 2021 on the Ortigas Film Festival Official Entry Form
  • The Top 10 films will be posted on the Ortigas Cinemas Facebook page starting March 12, 2021
  • Judging of all films will be done from March 12, 2021 – March 18, 2021
  • Winners will be announced on March 19, 2021.

 

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

Relevance to the theme – 20%

Creativity and Storytelling- 30%

Cinematography and Editing – 20%

Overall Impact- 30%

 

TOTAL: 100%

 

PRIZES

10 Short Films will be awarded

 

Top 3 Short Films will win the following:

1st Place PHP 15,000

2nd Place PHP 10,000

3rd Place PHP 5,000

 

The remaining Top 7 will receive PHP 2,000 each
